The interection of two doomed stars has created a spectacular ring adorned with a clumps of gas - a diamond necklace of cosmic proportions. Fittingly known as the Nacelace Nebula. The wonderful nebula is located 15000 light years away from the Earth in the small dim, Constellation of Sagitta ( the Arrow).

A pair of tightly orbiting Sun like stars create the Necklace Nebula, which also goes by the less glamarous name PN G054.203.4. It is Roughly 10,000 years ago, one of the aging star expanded and engulfed its small companion creating something astronomers call a " common envelope" The smaller star continued orbiting its larger companion increasing the bloated giant rotation rate until its large parts spun into space. This escaping ring of debris  formed  the Necklace Nebula with particularly denced clumps of gas forming the bright " diamonds" around the ring.

The pair of stars created the Necklace Nebula, remains so close together - separated by only few million kilometres. That they appeared as a single bright dot in the middle pf the image.
